What Can Happen In Covert Hypnosis?
In a regular hypnosis, there is a controlled environment and the subject is aware of what is about to happen and allows the hypnotist to lead them to a trance and when in that state, they can be given suggestions which they may or may not do.In a covert hypnosis, there is no controlled setting and the subject does not know that a hypnotist is about to bring them to a trance like state. They are not aware that they are already being manipulated to do things or to act in a certain manner. The subject will act o the suggestions without their knowing it because they believe that they are doing it on their own accord. This technique is useful for changing a thought pattern, or to stimulate a certain emotional response and to implant ideas or even false memories, all of which could change the behaviour of the subject.
